Intramuscular (IM) Injection Treatments

Intramuscular (IM) nutrient injection treatment formulations can have nutrients such as vitamin D, vitamin B12, folate, other B vitamins, and/or a few amino acids. You may be familiar with injections like:

• Lipotropic (often recommended for fatty liver)

• Adrenal support (these contain a few B vitamins and nutrients to help with energy but they do not contain cortisol modulating herbs which can often be key to improving adrenal health). Additional adrenal support options will be discussed during your initial assessment.

• Glutathione

• B12 injections

IM injections are designed to aid in providing some energy, immune, and other health-related support, ideally, in conjunction with a comprehensive treatment plan. Many may also opt for IM injections as they can be quick and/or less anxiety-provoking compared to getting an IV treatment since you are injecting into the muscle, most commonly the deltoid (upper arm) or the gluteal (buttock) muscles.

Nutrients delivered intramuscularly bypass the gut (just like delivered through an IV) but they are delivered into the muscle and then enter the bloodstream. This helps get nutrients right into the body without worrying about anything happening in the gut that might affect the absorption of nutrients. As we are injecting into muscle, the dose of each nutrient will be less than what is delivered intravenously and some nutrients cannot be delivered through IM delivery. IVs allow for a higher dose of nutrients, more nutrients, and enter the bloodstream directly BUT do have a longer treatment time.
